Would you advise other students to apply for this association's SEP?
Not at all Yes definitely

Do you have any suggestions how this association's SEP could be improved?
No, I think everything was organised very very well. However, I missed a little more background information about the city Saskatoon and the University of Sasktchewan.

 - Preparation -
How did you prepare for your traineeship?
Did you arrange a travel and/or malpractice insurance before your exchange?

Yes, I did. I have traveled before and therefore I have a premanent travel insurance. For traveling from the Netherlands to Canada you need to be insuranced extra, because of the higher medical costs in Canada.

 - Arrival and reception -
Write something about getting there , about meeting the local students and finding the working place and the place where you stayed.
After a one day stay in Toronto, because of the plane crash with Air France, I finally arrived in Saskatoon. Andrea, a local pharmacy student as well, picked me up at the airport. She drove me to my residence and showed me around at University. She also introduced me to my supervisor. The following week I met Erin, another local pharmacy student, in my lab. In the lab I met more locals as well. I was also invited to stay at a lace by Catherine, the girl who rented out here apartment to me. That is where I got in contact with more locals.

 - The place -
What was your accommodation like?
My accomodation was a bachelor basement suite. The apartment was very clean and bedsheets and towels were included. Catherine had even left some food for me before she left. I also was allowed to use the washingmachine and the dryer. In total the accomodation was perfect and it was very close to University too, only ten minutes walk.

 - The work -
Explain in detail what you did? What was the work like?
I basicly spent a lot of time reading and writing. I got a lot of articles about the two projects and read those and after that I started writing. For the methadone project I did some more literature search as well.

 - What did you learn? -
What did you learn?
I learned that there exists an Interprofessional Education program. Since I am aware about that now there might be a possibility to implement it at my home univeristy. I also learned more about the methadone program and how that is organized. I compared it to the program in the Netherlands, because I did not know much about that as well. Overall my English improved, so I think I reached one of my main goals.

 - Other visits or activities -
What else did you do during your stay? Which places did you visit?
Was it organised by the SEP committee or did you do it on your own?
Did you have to pay for these to the SEP committee? How much? Where there some other unexpected costs?

During my stay I visited Emma Lake, near Prince Albert. I got invited there by Catherine and her family. There were no extra costs during the stay for me. I went to the camping site in Rosthern. My landlords took me there and there were no extra costs for me again. The SEP committee hasn“t got organised anything during my stay, so there have not been any additional costs for me.

 - Recommendations/final conclusion -
Do you have any recommendations for other students? What is your final conclusion?
Altogether,my stay in Saskatoon was awesome. If I got the oppotunity again to travel there I would go there again. Everybody is so nice and friendly there and they gave me a unforgetable time. Thank you so much. Else
