Would you advise other students to apply for this association's SEP?
Not at all Yes definitely

Do you have any suggestions how this association's SEP could be improved?
For next year, I would like to recommend them, if it is possible, more people in organizaton bord. Sara and Nura are great persons (SEO Catalonia), but if they have help from other students that can improve all exchange program in Barcelona.

 - Preparation -
How did you prepare for your traineeship?
Did you arrange a travel and/or malpractice insurance before your exchange?

First for this trip, it was necessary schengen visa because Sebia isn`t in EU. I got invitation letter from SEO Catalonia on time, so I applied for visa, and one week later I got visa. In my country, I organized my traveling to the Spain. I booked ticket a month before my coming to Barcelona...Informations about my host country I found on internet links which I got from my SEO. It was good because I could read more about new country, culture, customs... I paid health insurance for whole month which it was necessary. For my training, I didn`t prepare so special, just reading material which my professor sent me about program of working in her laboratory during my month stage.

 - Arrival and reception -
Write something about getting there , about meeting the local students and finding the working place and the place where you stayed.
I didn`t have any problem during my trip to Spain. On airport wait me my contact person, I talked with her before I came to Barcelona by mail. She organized how to come to the flat and she was responsible for me. When you use a car it isn`t so hard to come where you want! She lead away and met with my professor on faculty. She expalained me which public transport was the best for going to the faculty and city centre. First days she went with me to city centre and showed me some important places in Barcelona (cultural and historical) and she recommended me what I had to see special in Barcelona.

 - The place -
What was your accommodation like?
I was in rented flat with other exchange students. I didn`t except so much because I have experience with rented flat before. It was average flat, big one with 4 rooms for sleeping and kitchen, bathroom, living-room, and big terace... During summer in Barcelona is very hot, so you can imagine how it was look like without air condition and fan. I thought that I will share room with my friend from Serbia, but we had to agree to be with other students... First it was strange feeling for me, but then I used on it, so to the end of exchange we had a few changes with our room-friends.

 - The work -
Explain in detail what you did? What was the work like?
I was a part of researching team (students and professors) on the Department of Physical Chemistry. My field of work was preparing liposomes as model membranes on few different ways: evaporation, by extruder technique. Investigation was between liposomes and several peptide constructs from hepatitis G virus. During this interaction I had to notice difference between ability of peptide from Hepatitis G to fuse zwitterionic and anionic bilayers. For this part of research I used FRET technique. Second part of research was about using fluorescence anisotropy measurements, with it I observed changes in memebrane fluidity upon peptide incubation with zwitterionic and anionic bilayers.

 - What did you learn? -
What did you learn?
I studied about new laboratories techniques which it uses in investigation of liposomes (FRET, anisotropy fluorescence techniques) , about liposomes(way of preparation and physicochemical properties of zwitterionic and anionic bilayers) like membranes model and new things about Hepatitis G virus, how to isolate and prepare different sequences peptides from (HGV-GBV-C).

 - Other visits or activities -
What else did you do during your stay? Which places did you visit?
Was it organised by the SEP committee or did you do it on your own?
Did you have to pay for these to the SEP committee? How much? Where there some other unexpected costs?

SEP Catalonia gave us books and guides with a lot informations about imporatant places in Barcelona and Catalonia. I visited all intersting places with my exchange friends. We organized everything alone. I saw all works of Gaudi (Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, La Pedrera, Casa Batllo), and other famous Catalan architects. We went to some place near Barcelona like Sitges which has a lot of beautiful beaches. SEO Catalonia organized few times dinner in different Spanish restaurants in Barcelona, so we could try typical Catalan speciality.

 - Recommendations/final conclusion -
Do you have any recommendations for other students? What is your final conclusion?
I would like to recommend my host SEO other exchange students for next year! My traineeship was great experience, I learned something new and I found one of field of pharmacy which I didn`t know so much before. Professors and colleagues from laboratory were nice and friendly so now I have new friends! This exchange was something new for me, I will remeber everything for whole life. This way of exploring pharmacy for all of us should be important, because it is easy to be great student on your faculty but you should show all yours quallity on new place and work together with new people. I want to thank IPSF my SEO Serbia because they made possible to me a be a part of one new familly.
