Cities available: Adelaide, Brisbane, Bendigo, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart, Townsville, Sydney, Perth, Newcastle Months available: Jan-March(summer), June-Sept(winter) to coincide with University holidays but you may choose to come any month.

We would often try to organise a family to host your stay in Australia so that you can enjoy the Aussie way of life! Students are expected to pay a weekly rate of AUD$ 55 to the host family to cover for meals (usually breakfast and dinner) and other amenities. Depending on the employer, student may be staying with the pharmacist or staff. In the event that we are unable to find a host family, we will aim to place you at a hostel. However, the price varies from AUD $20-$50 a night or up to AUD $100 - $300 a week, which will be paid by the student themselves.

Board will be paid by the student. Pocket money is not provided. Students will not be paid while they are undergoing their training/placement.
Social events? Possible presence of other exchange student at the same time in the same city (students of pharmacy or other fields)? : Several universities often have a Student Exchange club where activities are organised for exchange students. So please enquire with your SEO to obtain more information. Local pharmacy associations are encouraged to organise activities for students and assist students in any way possible (such as arranging for tours, taking them around to visit the city and see the sights).
Language requirements : Australia is a multi-racial and multi-cultural country. English is the first language but many residents do speak other languages.

Information on Work Permits and Visa : Students have to apply for a TOURIST visa and not a student or work visa. It is the student\'s responsibility to ensure that they acquire a valid visa before entering Australia. Deadline to apply: 31st March 2008 to allow enough time to organise the placement and accommodation. It would be the choice of the SEO and host employer to select the Exchange student based on their application, CV and motivation letter.
Special remarks : Australia is a great country to visit and live in! You\'ve got the Outback, the coasts and rainforests all rolled into one! You will definitely have a GREAT time and experience down under!!
