Accommodation by host family-a pharmacitst's family or a student pharmacist's family- in Harare.The student might also stay at one of the country's hotels/lodges in Harare depending on their period of stay.A customised accommodation package is also on offer.All expenses for accommodation shall be the responsibility of the host association.Board expenses shall be paid by the host association and a pocket money package shall be negotiated with each individual visiting student. |

There are a lot social events in the city of Harare and it has a vibrant nightlife as well. Within the School of Pharmacy students get together quite often to spend the weekend as a group or to carry out health campaigns or pharmacy profession campaigns. Currently there are exchange students from China in the Faculty of Arts. However, the Association will initially be able to accommodate four Pharmacy students at a time (in the same city-Harare), with the number increasing gradually over time.

The major native languages in the country are Shona and Ndebele. However, the country has a huge population of English speaking individuals as evidenced by its high literacy rate.Should the visitng student speak any other language other than those mentioned then arrangements will be made to have a translator present throughout the duration of the exchange programme. |

Initially, the exchange programme will be open to all students in any year of study. Pharmacy graduates will also be eligible for the programme. |

No deadline-Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.This is the first time in a number of years to have the programme running again thus there will be no restrictions on % bilateral exchanges for 2007-8.The choice of Exchange student will be made by the Student Exchange Officer on a first come-first serve basis.

The country has one School of Pharmacy at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) located 13km away from the CBD of Harare in the surburb of Mount Pleasant. All facilities for a standard city are available in Harare.The country's two main seasons are as follows:Summer: Sept-April (with peak temperatures experienced from Oct-Nov)&Winter: May- August.There are also a number of national attractions for the visting student to explore in and around the city. |
