Hospital and Community settings primarily. There are limited opportunities also available in a research setting at a university. No industry positions are available.

May, June, July, and August primarily. There are a few exchanges that have been arranged at other times of the year.

Placement is usually with a pharmacy student, pharmacy faculty, or with other SEP students in an apartment. Housing accomodations have also included student residence halls. Accomodation is provided to the student for free in most instances.

The student is responsible for all costs, with the exception of accomodation in most cases, and is not provided with any financial benefits for participating in SEP.

Possible presence of other exchange student at the same time in the same city (students of pharmacy or other fields)? : Exchange sites should have social programs/activities planned for the student while on SEP. Whether students are with other exchange students or integrating with American students at the host site, there will be plenty of things to do and see!!

Information on Work Permits and Visa : Students will need to obtain a TOURIST visa and not a student or work visa. It is the responsibility of the student to research the visa requirements to enter the US an be knowledgeable about the visa process. The SEO will work with the student to gain entrance into the US.
