Community pharmacy. Student may get to see hospitals and reseraching facilities arrenged by pharmacies and student organization. -Other areas (such as researching facilities or hospitals) might be available, but if students wish them please let us know before the dead line (January 31st). -Students usually work 5days a week, 4-8 hours per day.
Length of training periods? (usually 1-3 months) : 2weeks to 4 weeks. (If the students would like to make a personal trip may stay longer)

End of June till end of August. -Full month is NOT required. -2006 we had place in Tokyo and Nagano. 2007 Tokyo, Nara/Osaka, Gunma. 2008 Tochigi for 2009 we are not sure yet but most likely one placement in Tokyo area and some other city.

We are thinking of home stay style. Those student may be charged 100USD (10,000yen) to host families and 50USD (5,000yen) to Japanese student exchange committee as programme fees. (some families did not accept the charge) If host families are not available, students may stay at youth hostels which will cost about 20USD per night without any meal included, 40USD per night 2meals included. We are searching for sponsorship for the accommodation but so far no possible companies.

Social events? Possible presence of other exchange student at the same time in the same city (students of pharmacy or other fields)? : For weekends, local students or pharmacists may organize social plans. Summer festivals and fireworks are very popular events during the period students will be in Japan. (For 2009 in Tokyo area, fireworks seeing, museum and univeristiy labo tour) If you have any ideas (place you want to go or things you want to do) please let us know!
Language requirements : In the pharmacy all the medicines are written in Japanese Deadline will be 31st January 2009. (All AFs uploaded on database, SEO and SEC will consider.) If there will not be any candidate by the time, the deadline will be postponed. -So far no experience of Bilateral exchanges. -For 2008 all choices were made by SEC Japan. In 2009 some hosts or sponsors may make some choices.

Special remarks : Most of the things are really really expensive in Japan. Especially tranportation (train, bus and taxi) fare. Trough the month it could get to 200-300 USD.
